ST. LOUIS (May 2019) – Do you know the Filthy Four? You could have one or more of these contaminants on your windows that could make you sick. In honor of National Window Cleaning Day on May 15, Fish Window Cleaning® has launched an education campaign to warn of the dangers of four of the worst health risks lurking on windows.
The “Clean Windows, Clean Bill of Health” campaign aims to raise awareness of the health problems you may face if you don’t clean your windows properly.
“Many consumers and business owners don’t always understand the importance of window cleaning. It’s about more than just cleaning a window; it’s about your health,” says Randy Cross, President of Fish Window Cleaning. “We want to make sure that our customers understand the importance and value of regular, in-depth cleanings.”
The Filthy Four contaminants in the Fish Window Cleaning “Clean Windows, Clean Bill of Health” campaign declared to be the most dangerous to our health include:
Bird Droppings – Contact with bird excrement, which can carry up to 60 diseases, can lead to respiratory diseases, yeast infections, and illnesses that affect the lungs and central nervous system, including forms of paralysis.
Mold and Mildew - These fungi are often found inside homes, but they can also thrive on windows. Mold and mildew exposure can aggravate respiratory allergies as well as chronic respiratory conditions like asthma.
Pollen – The bane of many Americans, pollen can accumulate on window panes and sills, contributing to the sneezing, eye irritation and congestion often associated with pollen allergy – even when indoors!
Dust – Windows can accumulate plenty of dust – and worse – dust mites. Dust mites are microscopic, insect-like pests that love dirty windows and can cause respiratory issues and allergic reactions because of their feces, which may create airborne health hazards.
Health and safety are paramount at Fish Window Cleaning, which is an industry leader in ensuring the protection of both FISH window cleaners and customers.

By putting together a suggested Holiday Decorating Tool Kit, Fish Window Cleaning is helping to ensure that the community's decorations are hung properly and stay in place all season long.
While arranging beautiful, long-lasting holiday décor can be tricky, there are steps residents can take to increase the likelihood of a successful, festive display. First, residents should start the season with sparkling clean windows. Having a clean, dirt-free window can help decorations stay up for longer and avoid falling to the ground and breaking. This is because window-safe hooks adhere best to a residue-free surface. It’s also important to use proper tools to ensure that no damage befalls the window as a result of festive décor. For example, a razor should never be used to scrape away residue stuck on windows. Fortunately, the experts at Fish Window Cleaning have put together a suggested Holiday Decorating Tool Kit to ensure local holiday displays shine brightly this season.

Nominations open on October 7 and remain open through the end of the month. The winning home will be announced for each participating territory in early November.
“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we are excited to do our part to raise awareness,” says Randy Cross, President of Fish Window Cleaning. “We encourage everyone to see if the franchise location in your area is participating and then nominate someone in your life who is a breast cancer survivor or fighter. Treatments can be exhausting and time-consuming, so we want to make fall cleaning easy for these strong women and brighten their day.”
According to BreastCancer.org:
- One in eight U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime.
- In 2019 alone, an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S.

Clean Windows, Clean Bill of Health: Health Risks of Dirty Windows Revealed
Fish Window Cleaning Educates Public in Time for National Window Cleaning Day
FISH window cleaners are licensed, bonded, insured and professional, serving communities across the country. In addition to commercial and residential window cleaning, Fish Window Cleaning offers services such as mirror, skylight and chandelier cleaning. For more information, visit FishWindowCleaning.com.

Local Business Offers Safe Holiday Decorating Tips
Fish Window Cleaning Creates Holiday Decorating Tool Kit
ST. LOUIS (November 2018) – This festive season, Fish Window Cleaning®, the nation's premier window cleaning service, is offering tips for local families on how to safely and effectively decorate their windows for the holidays.
Items that should be included in your Holiday Decorating Tool Kit include:
- Easy-to-remove hooks
- Window-friendly, lightweight decorations
- Window cleaning solution
- Squeegees
- Soft cloths
Items that should not be used for holiday decorating include:
- Razors
- Nails
- Heavy decorations
- Hard or sharp decorations that may scratch the windows
- Thick tape or residue-causing materials

Fish Window Cleaning Increases Workplace Productivity With Clean Windows
Studies Show Clean Windows Play a Key Role in Office Efficiency
ST. LOUIS (September 2018) – Fish Window Cleaning®, the nation’s premier window cleaning service, is improving workplace morale across the country. Studies show that a lack of sunlight in office buildings can negatively affect employees’ self-esteem and productivity. Fish Window Cleaning leads the industry in year-round commercial window cleaning that can boost employee satisfaction.
- Psychology Today reports that natural light can drastically improve performance in the workplace. Studies show there is a strong correlation between employees’ exposure to daylight and their subsequent sleep, activity level and quality of life. The more access to natural light employees have, the more content they report feeling.
- Cornell University’s Daylight and Workplace Study, reveals workers seated by a window report an 84 percent drop in symptoms associated with computer vision syndrome, which is caused by prolonged screen use. These symptoms include eyestrain, headaches and blurred vision. The study also finds these same employees experienced a 2 percent boost in productivity. That’s the equivalent to around $2 million worth of value over the window’s lifetime. The average American spends 90 percent of their time inside, so it’s important to optimize the available sunlight through windows that are clean.
“The impact of a clean window goes far beyond aesthetics,” says Randy Cross, President of Fish Window Cleaning. “Employees take pride in working at a company that is clean, neat and organized. If you want to increase employee morale and efficiency, start by increasing natural light. Fish Window Cleaning keeps your windows looking great for you on a regular basis.”
Dirt and pollution can build up over time and dim corporate windows. Dirty, obscured windows block valuable natural light and negatively impact worker productivity. Fish Window Cleaning has 40 years of experience in making workplace windows clean and cheerful.
